Response of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) varieties to nutrient management in Rabi-hot weather season

Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during the rabi-hot weather season 2009–10 to study the response of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) varieties to nutrient management. The experiment was laid out in a split plot design with three replications. The main plot treatments were four varieties, namely, SB-XI, TAG-24, Konkan Trombay Tapora and Konkan Gaurav. The subplot treatments comprised five nutrient management treatments viz., recommended dose of fertilizers (F1-25:50:00 kg N, P2O5 and K2O ha−1), 25:50:50 kg N, P2O5 and K2O ha−1 (F), 75% of F2+ biofertilizers, 25 kg N through FYM (F4) and 75% of F4 + Biofertilizers. Thus, there were 20 treatment combinations. Groundnut variety SB-XI to be grown during rabi-hot weather with the application of 18.75:37.50 and 37.50 kg N + P2O5 + K2O ha−1 alongwith seed inoculation of Rhizobium and PSB @ 25 g each kg−1 seeds for obtaining higher yields as well as to sustain the soil fertility.
