A total of 30 random amplified polymorphic DNA and 16 Inter Sequence Simple Repeat primers were screened against four races of Fusarium oxysporum f sp. ciceri. Twenty three RAPD primers produced scorable bands, averages of 7 bands per primer. The level of polymorphism obtained 96.12%. Off sixteen ISSR primers screened level of polymorphism obtained 92.47%. The similarity co-efficient of RAPD and ISSR banding pattern analysis showed Race- 3 is distinct from other three races of the pathogen. In combined analysis of genetic diversity of the 4 races of the pathogen by using twenty three RAPD and fifteen ISSR primers shown higher level of polymorphism. The UPGMA analysis of RAPD, ISSR and RAPD-ISSR combine analysis grouped Race-1, Race-2, under cluster- A and Race-4 in cluster- B whereas Race- 3 showed distinct outgroup type reaction with low similarity index and distinct from other races of Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. ciceri.
