Abstract

The present work describes the effects of homobrassinolide (HBL) on total chlorophyll, total soluble proteins and osmoregulatory molecules (total sugars, reducing sugars, free amino acids and proline) in 15-day-old seedlings of Brassicajuncea L. treated with Hg and Ni metals at different concentrations. The two metals when used individually for treatment decreased the sugars and free amino acids, but increased proline contents. HBL treatments increased all the metabolites except proline over control.
