Essential Plant hormones are auxin, cytokinin, abscisic acid, gibberlins and ethylene but recently novel group of hormone emerges out involving Jasmonatic acid, salicylic acid, brassinosteroids, strigolactones, peptide hormones and polyamines. Jasmonic acid (JAs) is lipid derive phytohormone, which plays a significant role in growth and development of plants including root and shoot growth, trichome formation, fruit ripening, leaf senescence, male fertility and female organogenesis. JAs is a recognized novel stress phytohormone that not only mitigate biotic stress induced by (Bacteria, virus, fungi, insects, nematodes and parasitic plants) but also combat abiotic stress like ozone, salinity, thermal, salinity, drought and heavy metal stress. Present review is focused to the secondary plant product Jasmonic acid, basic, structure, cross talk and its application.
