The review highlights the usage of various ethnobotanical plants of the Sirohi region to cure ailments of the digestive system, respiratory system, nervous system, endocrine system, cardiovascular system, reproductive system, skin disorders, and various other infectious conditions. Furthermore, the review highlights the huge phytochemical profile of these plants by revealing the presence if several bioactive secondary metabolites such as alkaloids, flavonoids, phenolic acids, tannins, coumarins, terpenoids, and several others, that contribute to the medicinal value of the plants. Also, these phytochemicals are associated with the antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory nature of medicinal plants. As we explore the ethnobotanical studies conducted in the Sirohi district of Rajasthan, we come across an aspect much greater than just the medicinal attributes of plants, highlighting the closely formed bond between humans and plants over the evolutionary years, giving rise to a field of “ethnobotany”. However, apart from unveiling the huge medicinal biodiversity of the Sirohi district in the form of plants, the current review is a reminder to preserve this rich heritage for future generations.
