This article gives an overview of chirality in nature with reference to the terminology that is currently being used and trace its history and discusses the various types of chiral molecules and their enantiomers together with special reference to applications in biomolecules. The various chiral compounds interact with other chiral materials in all living beings. The Applications of chirality in chiral synthesis are a major application of biotransformation and bioconversion technology. Hence, there is a need for further investigations as the subjects has evolutionary significance because chiral molecules determine development into chiral objects and hence play a pivotal role in evolutionary biology.
