Abstract

Plant hormones are natural local secretions of plants, mediate signals at distance for the growth, development, breeding, senescence and even death. Essential Plant hormones like auxin, cytokinin, abscisic acid, gibberellins and ethylene are not only utilized for growth & development but also mitigate different biotic and abiotic stress. Recently there is sixth or novel group of phytohormone emerges out as interesting signaling molecule to resolve the growth, development, biotic and abiotic stress problems significantly of plant at cellular and molecular levels included salicylic acid, jasmonates, brassinosteroids, polyamines, strigolactones and peptide hormones. Present review is confined to the secondary plant product salicylic acid, basic, structure, biosynthesis, cross talk and its application.
