Abstract

Many researches on Cognitive science focus on the working process of human brain which is simulated in various real time applications. The system should learn like a human and it should recognize the new skill, which is the main objective of cognitive science. When we sandwich the cognitive science and e-learning it will impart an adaptive learning environment for e-learner comparable to pedagogical learning environment. This paper proposes a framework for adaptive e-learning environment using cognitive architecture ACT-R (Adaptive Control of Thought-Rational), which reflects the learner's cognitive behaviour while learning using psychological signal-EEG. The main objective of this paper is to briefly describe the working principle of the cognitive architecture for this proposed environment and how the computational model of ACT-R dynamically recognizes the learner's behaviour while learning in the e-learning environment.
