User Preferences of Online Newspapers Among Software Professionals in Coimbatore, India

Abstract

The study was carried out to analyse the user preferences of software professionals in Coimbatore district of India in respect of online newspapers. The study revealed that software professionals find online newspapers more convenient than their print versions in terms of interactivity, retrievability, cost, length of stories, time spent and timeliness. On the flipside, they find online newspapers replete with mistakes, inaccuracy and distractions such as emails and advertisements, while not delivering local and community news.
