Role of television in health communication: A case study of Vijayapur

Abstract

In recent years television has become one of the most popular platform to disseminate information, ideas, videos, pictures, thoughts, opinions etc. to its audience and users can easily access any kind of information and also health related programs and channels. This study identifies to find out the usage of television and preference of Television among respondents in accessing health information in the district of Vijaypur in state of Karnataka. For this study, descriptive research design was adopted and the primary data was collected using a structured questionnaire. A total of 120 respondents were selected randomly for the study. The findings of the study depict that majority of the respondents were watching television for purpose of accessing health information.
