Purpose: This paper aims to examine the influence of media reports and research articles on societal narratives around Sardar Patel’s integration of India. In this paper there is a brief discussion of Sardar Patel’s image perceived in public domain by comparing scholarly articles and prominent newspaper reports surrounding the integration of India. Societal narrative are generated on the basis of repetitive news and information dissemination. So it is very important to know and compare how scholar and media reports frame a figure of national pride Sardar Patel.
Design/methodology/approach: The content of these articles and media reports this paper compares the content on the basis of repetitive issues and words and quotes and then analyse it.
Findings: The research paper aims to Analyse media reports and research articles influencing societal narrative surrounding Sardar Patel’s unification of India.
Originality/value: The studies also show how Patel’s influence covered economic stability and foreign policy insight in addition to national integration.
