The study assesses the transformative influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the Indian media landscape by surveying 45 senior editors in New Delhi. It examines historical AI evolution, content generation, labour dynamics and ethical concerns. Findings reveal that while approximately half of Indian media houses have initiated AI integration, a pervasive lack of expertise hinders optimal utilization. The research concludes that AI is currently in a time-saving stage but forecasts significant structural shifts in newsrooms over the next decade.
