This paper discusses a study in which groups of youth, aged sixteen, recorded videos, using camcorder equipment on the subject of environment. The paper describes how this project gave youth an opportunity to enhance their environment media literacy skills through a media production experience. This paper reports the findings of a project that aimed to engage youth with media critically and creatively. We present the findings that emerge out of focus group discussions with the participants regarding their media production experiences and their views towards environmental issues. This study has demonstrated that digital video production can be a powerful vehicle for enhancing environment media literacy skills among youth in Malaysia.
