Economic stability of India is mainly dependent on agriculture production. Production growth is surging ahead in recent years but there will be greater demand in future because of high rate of population growth. Agriculture scientists are developing new techniques and research to produce more food grain in available land with the help of technological revolution. The advantage of this technological revolution is not reaching to several millions families who are totally dependent on farming or farming related works. These families are the backbone of Indian agriculture and are scattered in remote places all over the country. Main reason behind the inaccessibility of research and new techniques to these families appears to be the difficulty to approach them. Modern communication technologies now-a-days can provide solutions to such problems. With the help of an exclusive television channel devoted to agriculture, horticulture and related areas one can bring agricultural prorammes to the doorsteps of target audience. This paper is an attempt to briefly examine the feasibility and need of satellite based 24 hour an independent agriculture channel in India. The study has been designed as a descriptive survey. The opinion of farmers and the need for establishing infrastructure for meeting the operational requirements is also discussed.
