This paper, premised on the technology acceptance model/theory assumptions, explores, qualitatively the dynamics of international communication in the era of new media technologies with reference to the Nigerian environment. Thus, it analyzes the New World Information and Communication Order (NWICO) debate, the major stakes in international communication such as globalization, media/cultural imperialism and news flow imbalance etc. It argues that using new media technologies in international communication is capable of removing the barrier of distance and time, reduce news flow imbalance, promote international relations and positively enhance globalization. Therefore, as a way of downplaying some of the contending issues in international communication in the era of new media technologies in Nigeria such as mental imperialism, western grip of international news agencies, loss of cultural values and bad leadership among others; there is need for Nigeria as a developing country to fashion out ways of contributing economically, socially, culturally and technologically to the world at large. Moreover, this would enhance the recognition and relevance of Nigeria in international communication in the era of new media technologies.
