This study analysed the contents of the political websites’ that could be helpful in educating the voters, to determine whether and how politicians used websites to educate the electorate. The study was done with the political parties and candidates in Maharashtra and Gujarat, the two Western states of India. The finding show that most of the websites under study, of the total seven political parties and 24 candidates have not realized the full utility of their websites for voter education. Their websites lacked content and features that would have been useful to educate the electorate. But some politicians have shown the way that it can be used up to its potential to educate the voters in future elections. In addition, this study found that age and education of the candidates is correlated significantly and positively with the number of voter educational features.
