Networking is given lot of importance in today's world for building strong relationship between individuals and groups. Reach of social media is cutting across all demographic and geographic boundaries which help in reaching out to the unknown. This paper discusses the various patterns of social networking usage by different age groups in the Northern region of Goa state in India. The study explores the purpose, method, frequency, time duration, importance of profile pictures and, the status. This study majorly focuses on social platforms i.e. Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, LinkedIn and Instagram. It infers that the trend of using Social Networking is increasing while the trend of making friends is declining, focusing on the importance of being in touch with others through social networks.
