Naming a product or a service is only the first step in building a brand. The next step is to prop up the name in the minds of the target. Brand promotion helps in popularizing the brand in the midst of the masses and consequently building a brand image. Brand promotion is the process of using various mediums to create brand awareness in the market. Gone are the days when the promotion activities were limited to advertising, viral marketing, road shows, events and celebrity endorsing only were the concept of ‘We write and you read’ which. With the arrival of the internet and the eccentric media it brought forth, brand promotion has implicit a whole new meaning, ‘we write and we read’.
Social Media is not only a cause of in substantial amusement for the young and the idle. It is now a tremendously active and comprehensive marketing medium with infinite possibilities and opportunities.
The rationale for this research was to gain an insight into the extent of social media as the form of digital media marketing usage by organizations to promote their brands in the minds of the consumers.
