Intrauterine devices (IUDs) remain one of the main methods of choice for birth control in the world, especially in developing countries. Uterine perforation by an IUD is a rare but important complication of IUD use. Here a case was reported in which a 25 yrs old female, having a history of IUD insertion 3 months after delivery suddenly collapsed and the PM examination revealed the perforation of the uterus with the IUD lying in the adjacent region.
