Abstract

The pattern of papillary ridges in human beings consists of three main types, loop, whorl, arches, although various combination if these, and minor pattern variations in orientation, distortion, ridge width and number. These three major patterns & many other minor factors are determined by multi factorial inheritance along Mendelian lines, although prenatal disturbance of metabolism also affects their inheritance, as a result these findings may form a useful diagnostic tool in certain circumstances.1

The present research is to study these patterns in patients with primary generalized epilepsy.
