Abstract

In our technological age, nothing more primitive can be conceived of than denying discoveries and nothing cruder can retard forensic efficiency than swearing by traditional oral evidence only thereby discouraging the liberal use of scientific aids to prove guilt. Video conferencing is an advancement in science and technology which permits one to see, hear, and talk with someone far away, with the same facility and ease as if he/she is present before you i.e. in your presence. This advanced technology can be applied to medical experts who give evidence.

A cross sectional study was conducted by interview method with medical experts through prestructured questionnaire with the objective to study the medical experts’ perspective about evidence by video conferencing as compared to evidence by physical presence.

All the medical experts are of view that video conferencing saves time and cost.

Video conferencing is advantageous as it saves time of the court as well as medical expert and can be used for teaching students.
