Phytoplasma infection significantly affects the morphology and biochemical profile of brinjal, a key vegetable crop. This study compares healthy and phytoplasma-infected brinjal samples, revealing substantial morphological changes in infected plants, such as reduced leaf and fruit size, shorter stems and stunted growth. Biochemical analysis indicated increased levels of total phenolic content, total flavonoid content, and antioxidant activity, suggesting that phytoplasma infection triggers stress-related secondary metabolites. These insights enhance the understanding of phytoplasma-host dynamics and underscore the importance of developing effective management strategies to protect brinjal crops.
