Abstract

The impact of group discussion training on 30 college students who were studying in Master of Business Administration (MBA) was measured. The students for the study were selected from Udaipur (Rajasthan). As the mother tongue of these students was Hindi they generally find it difficult to communicate in English. As most of the corporate houses require effective English communication it was considered appropriate to study the effectiveness of group discussion training in development of English communication skill. Intensive group discussion training was given once in a week to all the selected students for 8 weeks. The performance of students prior to training and after training was compared. It was found that there was a significant impact of group discussion training. Fluency and confidence of MBA students increased significantly due to such training.
