The aim of this article is to study ecofeminism in Margaret Atwood's Surfacing and Kamala Markandaya's Nectar in a Sieve. Contemporary literature is breathing within a new menace of environmental pollution or ecological disaster. In the 21^st century, there is a rise of globalisation and an increase in the power of private enterprise. In 2011, the world population was about 1.7 billion and it was 7.3 billion in 2015. By 2050, the world population will have crossed the number of 9.40 billion. In the past years, we have seen many environmental problems. Our environment is constantly changing. Ecofeminism is a new way of approaching nature, politics and sprituality.
