Abstract

Globalisation is basically a phenomenon through which countries of the world interact and intermingle on social, cultural, political and economic grounds. As a nation, India has always proliferated the idea of globalisation through our famous Sanskrit phrase ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ means the world is one family. The economic surveys and innumerable data prove that India's trade capacity has increased with the spur of globalisation but this paper tries to analyse how making the world our family has influenced India on social and cultural grounds. Throughout the paper the focus is on highlighting both the positive and negative impacts of globalisation on the various cultural and social values of India.
