NOTE: Cinnamomum assamicum Nath & Baruah (Laruaceae) described from Assam has been found later homonym, and hence the name of specific epithet is proposed to change as ‘asomicum’ instead of ‘assamicum’. The author citation will be remained as such. (Pl. see the Reference Baruah and Nath, In press).
Vegetative propagation studies of Cinnamomum asomicum Nath & Baruah and C. impressinervium Meissn have been done. The cuttings (current year lateral shoots) of both the species exhibited 100% rooting at 90 days intervals. The regeneration techniques developed in the present investigation provides a good deal of protocol, for multiplication of these two new and promising species of Cinnamomum through stem cuttings.
