Abstract

A study was conducted on lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuous) cv. Krishna with the aim to find out suitable agro-climatic condition for cultivation of lemongrass in different types of soils viz. Mar (fine clayey black),Kabar (clay loom black), Parua (gray brown) and Rakar (reddish brown) in selected experimental field of farmers clusters in Bundelkhand region of India. The study was concluded on performance of lemongrass in terms of growth and oil yield was better in Mar soil followed by Kabar, Parua and Rakar in this region. Accordingly, farmers are being suggested to grow lemongrass preferably on Mar type of soil to get maximum growth of the crop leading to additional source of income in mostly drought condition.
