The seedlings of Ageratum conyzoides Linn. of Family Asteraceae were treated with various concentrations of Ethyl Methane Sulphonate (EMS) to record its effect on production of alkaloids. 0.5% EMS showed an appreciable change over the control and was effective concentration to increase the alkaloid contents in A. conyzoides Linn.
