Abstract

Present study deals with effect of growth regulators on the growth and biomass and fruits production of Withania somnifera. The results revealed that pretreatment with growth regulators were significant in enhancing growth, biomass and fruiting. Root parameters showed that amongst all the growth regulators IBA at 25 ppm was most effective for the increasing length, biomass, basal area, and circumference. GA3 was found best for shoot parameter. GA3 at 25 ppm was found significant in stimulating stem length, stem biomass, higher number and larger size of leaves and higher production of flowers and fruits.
