Abstract

An investigation was carried out to determine the bioactive components of Bulbophyllum albidum. The chemical composition of the ethanol extract of whole plant of Bulbophyllum albidum was investigated using Gas chromatography-Mass spectrometry, while the mass spectra of the compounds found in the extract was matched with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) library. Fifteen components were identified in which 1, 2-Benzene dicarboxylic acid, diisooctyl ester was the major constuent. n-Hexadecanoic acid detected in Bulbophyllum albidum may have the role in antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.
