Biology of fruit borer (Deudorix isocrates Fabr.) on Emblica officinalis
Abstract
The biology of fruit borer, Deudorix Isocrates Fabr. was studied on Aonla tree. The female laid round white eggs singly but also in pair either on the fruits or on the stalk and some times on the upper surface of leaves. The Incubation, larval, prepupal, pupal periods were 9.2±0.72, 35.3±1.88, 3.4±0.45 and 14.5±2.79 days, respectively. Fecundity, pre-oviposition and oviposition periods were 27.4±3.30, 1.2±0.42 and 3.6±1.07 days, respectively. The longevity of male and female was 6.7±1.15 and 10.5±1.08 days, respectively. The average sex ratio of female to male was 1.80:1±0.07.
