Abstract

On analysing the contents of different media like radio, television, newspapers, e-papers and portals, one can find that on the one hand, some of the media has welcomed the historic Right to Education Act by describing it as the beginning of a new morning. On the other hand, some raised their eyebrows regarding hurdles and complications in implementing the Act. But in principle all the media have described this much awaited Act as commendable. As a matter of fact, education is not only essential, but compulsory for the nation building as it leads to the overall growth of nation. It is high time, media should concentrate on enhancing development journalism and should not only seriously comprehend this historic Act, but also enlighten the various units of the social system about the importance, relevance and utility of this Act.
