Internet can be termed as the interconnection of the variety of networks and computers. Internet makes use of the internet protocol and the transmission control protocol. Internet opened the doors of communication between the various stations. Internet facilitates storing and transmission of large volumes of data. The internet is one of the most powerful communication tools today. The Internet revolution in India is well underway. The literature survey clearly shows that the penetration of computers and number of internet connections as well as internet users is increasing rapidly. The growth of private Internet Service providers is a revolution in itself. There is little research in the area of internet consumption habits of people in India. At least compared to research pertaining to other media, this is very small. Due to these reasons, such a study as mine becomes important to understand and examine the internet usage and consumption habits of youth. For the present study 180 samples are randomly selected from the various educational fields. Primary and secondary methods are used for data collection. The data collected was processes by employing certain steps of operation i.e., editing, coding, classification and tabulation.
