The specific combining ability effects for grain yield/plant were significant and in desirable direction in 15 cross combinations in F1 and 12 cross combinations in F2 generation. The cross (Jaya) X (IR66738-118-1-2), (Pant Dhan-12) X (IR66155-21-1-2) and (Pant Dhan-12) X (IR66159-23-2-2-1) were good specific combinations for grain yield/plant in both the generations.
