Abstract

The present investigation meant to assess the water quality list for the groundwater of around Magnesite Mines in Salem District. The 20 groundwater tests were gathered in the investigation range and to break down the substance qualities. For ascertaining the WQI, the accompanying parameter has been considered viz., pH, Total Hardness, Calcium, Magnesium, Chloride, Sulfate, Total Dissolved Solids, Sodium, Total Alkalinity. The WQI esteems go from 55.45 to 81.29. Vinayakampatti has a high estimation of WQI esteem because of quality of higher convergence of magnesium, sulphate and chloride in the groundwater. The outcomes are contrasted and guidelines of WHO and IS 10500-2012 for drinking reason. The examination uncovers that the groundwater tests of the territory require some degree treatment before drinking and other reason and it likewise should be shielded from the wellsprings of the peril of defilement.
