Abstract

The most focused area for the banking industry in India is the impact of global turmoil has been on the issues related to the home loans in which "Property valuation" Is in the limelight. The Reserve Banl< has also issued detailed guidelines on implementation of the Basel II framework covering all the three pillars with the guidelines. The authors of this paper focus on the various valuation methods followed by Indian banks and provide the recent innovations in the housing market in specific to the valuation of property The paper also highlights the impact and reforms of Basel II on the home loans & the valuation system prevailing and the manner In which it enhances the present valuation systems in the banking Industry.
