The present study is an effort to analyze the satisfaction level of bank employees regarding various human resources training programmes conducted by State Bank Learning Centre Vizianagaram. Appropriate training models are developed by the SBI for providing specialized knowledge, information and skills, to suit the needs of modern banking system in India. The study results have been observed after interviewing 320 respondents through a questionnaire and holding formal discussions with trainees from learning centre. The most of the respondents are highly satisfied regarding training programmes. A majority of them expressed their opinion, training should be continuous and periodic to refresh their work knowledge. The study found that the lecture method is considered to be very popular and often used in training programmes, and also the training methods like, case study, role play and conference methods should also be used more frequently. These methods indeed help inspire the trainees more and touch upon their behavior and attitudinal dimension. It is suggested that knowledge oriented programmes and human relations oriented programmes are required to develop for more interaction and participation of employees with their customers.
