DWCRA program has experienced an impressive growth during the last few years. Microcredit is the extension of small loans to groups of poor people, especially women, for the purpose of investing in self-employment programs, and improving earning capacity and standard of living of the poor. In this paper, an attempt has been made to study the impact of DWCRA program on the lives of rural women and to understand the importance of micro finance as an instrument for poverty alleviation in rural areas. Respondent's role and responsibilities, how the respondents overcome the problems after joining DWCRA groups and comparison between the DWCRA groups have been tested by applying Mean and Standard Deviation in relation to age and caste individually. The results show that DWCRA women were able to provide an additional income to their families, over come some of the social and family problems.
