Abstract

Mutual funds are said to be the best channels for mobilizing the funds of the small investors and contribute significantly to the capital markets. Mutual funds are less than 30 years old in the Indian scene, though the UTI had made its beginning in 1964. But within these 30 years, the industry has made a significant progress. It is so well organized that even corporate sector shows interest in investing in the units of mutual funds. The Government through SEBI has played it s part as a regulator very well. Still only a small fraction of the Indian population has shown interest in mutual funds. By analyzing their satisfaction level, it is hoped, that the study can offer suggestions for improving the client base of mutual funds.
