Abstract

Medical tourism in India is a concept whereby people from all over the world visit India for medication and total healing solutions. India the country known for the best of all medical facilities and healing solutions, is inviting foreign medical tourists to visit India and explore the fast and convenient medical tourism services. The world class travel infrastructure and highly qualified team of doctors available in India favors the booming demand for medical tourism services. A statistical analysis for Indian medical tourism has shown that nearly two hundred million people can be employed by the year 2020. The cost of treatment in India starts as low as 1/10th of the total cost In US or UK.

Over 150000 patients of over 55 countries visit India for various medical tourism services. The medical expenses in India are 60 to 80% cheaper when compared to other European countries. Inter-personal doctor patient relations are vital to attract patients from abroad. The emotional intelligence factors embrace the ability to understand other people on aspects like what motivates foreign tourist, what facilities they look for on arrival and how to work cooperatively with them. These medical functionaries are skilled at assessing the emotions, motivations, desires and intentions of medical tourists visiting India. Emotional intelligence in medical tourism thus enables service providers and medical professionals to acquire and exhibit hospitality to patients from across the world. It also enhances the ability to communicate effectively in English, the language most of the medical tourists from abroad understand.
