Abstract

One hundred genotypes of linseed were rvaloated over three locations for twelve component characters. Correlation studies indicated that seed yield had significant positive association with days to maturity, number of capsules per plant, number of seeds per capsule, 1000-seed weight and oil content a positive association among number of Wers per plant number of branches per plant, number of capsules per plant and number of seeds per capsule was also observed. Number of capsules per plant, 1000-seed weight, harvest index and plant height showed posltve direct effect on seed yield. Considering correlation and path analysis together, it may be Inferred that number of capsules, 1000-seed weight and harvest index were the major yield contributing characters.
