Abstract

The present study Involving 24 diverse genotypes of Basmatl and non-Basmatl rice was undertaken to compare efficiency of RAPD, ISSR, SSR and STS molecular marker systems In order to select an adequate and efficient one which could finger print/characterize different varieties of basmati rice and non basmati rice adapted In different agro-ecologlcal systems. The average PIC values for RAPD, ISSR, SSR and STS primers were estimated for comparing their efficiency. Distance matrices were used to obtain clustering of varieties based on UPGMA method.
