The generation mean analysis of eight crosses of chilli viz., Utkal Ragini × KDCS-810, HC-28×LCA0334, HC-28×LCA-206, HC-28×Utkal Ragini, DC-24×KDCS-810, DC-24×DC-16, DC-16×HC-28 and DC-16×LCA-334 for the genetic control of days taken to flowering, fruit set and fruit ripening revealed the importance of additive gene action (d) over the dominance gene action (h). Besides this, epistasis gene interactions were also present in the inheritance of these traits in chilli.
