Today, there is serious concern about sufficient future global production of food from crop plant. In addition to an increasing world population, there are several reasons for this concern. Firstly, global climate change will affect crop growth and threaten the conservation of cultivated lands. Seconqly, freshwater resources are declining and the competition for this water between urban areas, the industrial sector and agriculture is increasing. Thirdly, the availability of arable land is decreasing because of soil erosion and degradation, land conversion to other uses and non-sustainable farming. With this consternation and possibility in food production we need to gd ready to feed 9 billion people by 2044. There are several vital ways to cope with these emerging problems, including management adoptions and politico-economic reforms. The International Assessment of Agricultural Science and Technology for Development (IAASTD) has recently called for a greater support of agro-ecological approaches, which it considers a great potential for world agriculture. One approach to improving global food production is the enhancement of the raw material -the crops themselves. Young generation breeders need to bear in mind and reconsider their objective approach of breeding. In past also breeder has moved their approach for select the yield per plant to yield per unit area now again its requirement to think how to develop a cultivar with best use efficiency area, time and water and hence breeder need to compare yield/unit area/Unit time/unit water. To attain this challenging task breeder need to supplement their conventional way of breeding (CB) with molecular assisted breeding (MAB).
