Abstract

Rice wheat is the predominant cropping system of the indo-gangetic plain region, many factors are influence the production and productivity of this important cropping system, applied nutrient is one of the most important among those factors, but response of a cropping system to applied nutrient largely depend on the soil nutrients status, response of nutrient and the amount of applied nutrient. The high responses to P and K were associated with corresponding medium soil status in those nutrients. From economic viewpoint, the responses were about 9.5 Rupees/Rupee spent on N, whereas it was only 5.26 Rupees/Rupee spent on P and 7.63 Rupees/Rupee spent on K.
