Evaluate The Effect of Novel Insecticides on Coccinella Septumpunctata Population Under Field Condition in Black Gram

Abstract

A field experiments was conducted in randomized block design with three replications of seven treatments during kharif season 2011–12 at entomological research block of crop research centre, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture & Technology, Meerut (U.P.) to evaluate the effect of some novel insecticides against the C. septumpunctata population. Effect of different insectcides viz., fleubendiamide 480SC @ 75 ml/ha indoxacarb 14.5SC @ 500 ml/ha, cypermethrin 25EC @1000 ml/ha, lambda cyhalothrin 5 EC @ 500 ml/ha, novaluron 10EC @ 750 ml/ha and carbosulfan 25EC @ 1000 ml/ha tested against C. septumpunctata population revealed that fleubendiamide 480 SC@ 75 ml/ha was found more safer after the untreated control with maximum beetles/ten plants of C. septumpunctata at first spray 3.00 (3 DAS) and 3.33 (7 DAS), and the maximum beetles/ten plants at second spray 2.00 (3 DAS) and 2.00 (7 DAS). The next in order to safer treatments were novaluron 10EC @ 750 ml/ha, indoxacarb 14.5SC @ 500 ml/ha, lambda cyhalothrin 5 EC @ 500 ml/ha and cypermethrin 25EC @1000 ml/ha were recorded in respect of population of C. septumpunctata as compared to untreated control, respectively. Among the insecticidal treatments carbosulfan 25EC @ 1000 ml/ha was recorded highly toxic to C. septumpunctata at first spray with 0.00 (3 DAS) and 0.67 (7 DAS) beetles/ten plants and 0.33 (3 DAS) and 0.00 (7 DAS) beetles/ten plants at second spray, respectively.
