A field experiments entitled “seasonal incidence of larval population of gram pod borer (helicoverpa armigera hubner) on chick pea in Meerut” were conducted during Rabi seasons of 2010 and 2011 at Entomological Research Block of Crop Research Centre (CRC), Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut-250110 (U.P.). Larval population peaked in all control plots on 15th April (15th standard weeks) when the maximum and minimum temperature 34°C and 17.67°C respectively, relative humidity 57.57% and rainfall 0.00 mm was recorded. However, lowest larval population of 1.21 was recorded in the 1st standard week when the maximum and minimum temperature 13.35°C and 4°C respectively, relative humidity 77.78 per cent and rainfall were recorded 0.00 mm. The larval population of H.armigera was found positive with maximum (r= 0.858) and minimum (r= 0.886) temperature during Rabi season 2010–11. The correlation between larval population and relative humidity was found negative (r=-0.569). While rainfall had positive correlation (r= 0.158) with larval population during crop season.
