Abstract

The present study was carried out during the year 2012–13 in Pilibhit district of western Uttar Pradesh. There are 7 development blocks in district Pilibhit. All the blocks are covered under Krishi Vigyan Kendra Pilibhit. Therefore, due to limited time and resources only two blocks i.e., Marauri and Lalorikhera were selected purposively for conducting present research projects. The reason for the selection of above blocks was that the Krishi Vigyan Kendra Pilibhit was also running training programmes. To know socio-economic background of the trained farmers. It was observed that most of the trained farmers belonging to the age group 30–45 years. The education status of most of the farmers were up to primary school and most of them belong to backward caste, they had 2 to 4 members in family, living in nuclear family system, having pucca houses, their main occupation was agriculture, land holding size was above 2 ha, 51.66 percent canal sources of irrigation, 75.00 percent No affiliation in any social organization, and per family income was about medium (Rs.20000–35000) per annum.
