Abstract

Physical properties of maize kernels plays major role in the design of seed box, conveyers and seed metering device. The physical properties of maize kernels at different levels of moisture content from 10.45 to 20.30% on d.b. were investigated. The kernels dimensions such as length, width thickness and diameter increase linearly with increase moisture content. An increase in bulk density and true density was observed whereas the porosity decreased at different moisture content 10.45, 13.50, 16.60 and 20.30% d.b.
