Abstract

An experiment was conducted to study the effect of lentil to herbicidal application, viz. Nitrofen, Alachlor, Tribunil, Isopruturon and Metoxuron on lentil. Amongst the herbicidal treatments, Tribunil @ 0.75 kg a.i./ha as pre-emergence application increased the plant height, chlorophyll content, pods/plant, seeds/pod, 1000 seed, weight, seed yield and harvest index, while decreased the weed index of lentil. Apart from these relative growth rate of lentil showed similar trend in Metoxuron and Tribunil treated plants except in 30 to 60 DAS where, Nitrofen atained higher value. Thus, Tribunii @0.75 kg/ha as pre-emergence may be used for increasing seed yield.
